For the 2023-2024 school year, the Downey Mariachi will be broken up into Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced groups. No prior experience is required for the Beginner Class, but previous participation in Mariachi or demonstrated ability will be required to participate in the Intermediate and Advanced Classes.
The class will meet on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings during the school year: Beginner - 6:30 pm to 7:10 pm, Intermediate - 7pm to 8pm, Advanced - 7:30 pm to 9 pm.
Most instruments will be provided, but bring your own mariachi instrument if you have one.
This class is open to Middle School and High School students in DUSD.
Only High School students will earn high school course credit.
