The Downey High School Viking Color Guard has made a name for itself through their consistently strong performances during the fall marching band season, and winter guard season. The ensemble is composed of persistent hardworking individuals of diverse backgrounds who learn the values of teamwork, perseverance, responsibility, and determination in their pursuit to excellence. Over the last 10 years under the direction of Color Guard Designer Homer Lopez the Downey Color Guard has won numerous Bronze, Silver, and Gold Medals; along with earning a Scholastic A Finalist spot at The Winter Guard International World Championships in 2016.
